Yahiko Shrine at the foot of Mt.Yahiko-yama located in Niigata was the ichinomiya, a chief shinto shrine of former Echigo Province.

The top of Mt.Yahiko-yama is 638m above sea level, 5 minutes by ropeway from the Sanroku station close to Yahiko Shrine.

 Panorama Tower, an observatory at 100m high, revolving and moving up and down.

From Mt.Yahiko-yama, Japan Sea and Sado Island can be seen in the distance.

Echigo Plain, the most rice-producing region in Japan.
